Vivint is bad business!

Im not paying these people a dime. I didnt want their service in the first place. I already had ADT SECURITY. Two men came to my house and talked for 2 hours about me switching to them and told lies to get me to switch. I was under contract with ADT and they told me how to get out of it. Another lie! Had to pay ADT $1500. because the letter they had me write and the envelope they addressed for me was returned to me a few weeks later. Shady people full of lies! I just wanted them to leave so ended up signing with them. They knew exactly what they were doing. Husband out of town, they said we got this. And they worked me over! I called and called them to cut my service off and they said they gave me a number and I had to have that to get out of contract. I told them time and time again that I got no such number and I wanted It done with right now. Not without the number they said. That was such crap because they gave me no number. After months of phone calls from different people trying to collect 1000. from me or lets make a deal, it finally went on my credit report. Dropped my credit score but I still wasnt going to give in to shady business! I was planning on waiting it out till it went off my report. Well today I get a call and was threatened with my wedges being garnished or it would be taken out of my taxs. I said they cant do that and the whole world is in distress over Covid-19. Whats wrong with you people that you would even bother someone about this kind of bs. Anyway I told him I was on a job and he would have to call me back. And that will be at any time now. After reading reviews, I will answer the call and tell him like I told all the others.....Im not paying it! I have disputed this 2 times on my credit report and nothing has been done. Its still there!

User's recommendation: Do not use this company. They are very shady and dishonest! Just read the reviews!

I purchase my Vivint security system in October of 2019. I started with the monthly monitoring charge of $60.00 per month. I feel that was too expensive, so I canceled it after a few months. Little did I know that I would not be able to access my security camera's from my phone any longer. Also, at that time, I became invisible to them. I called to purchase some minor parts that fell out of the door and was told since I did not have the monitoring service for $60.00 per month they would not sell me parts or even send out a service tech even if I paid for it. Presently my door camera has not worked in months. They just want the monitoring charge and will offer NO other services unless you have it. I know I called in for service before a year had gone by, so they apparently do not offer a warranty without the monitoring plan. Go with Simplisafe security system. The monitoring fee is $15.00, save $45.00 per month.

This company does not believe in cancellation. I had a contract with Vivint for a few years. When my contract was up I went on a month to month while researching when it came time to cancel I called I even faxed letters and sent the appropriate letter to the company to make sure it was cancelled even though I was told on a month to month all I had to do was call them of course they told me different. From a $50 pass bill and constantly sending my name to different Collection companies the amount they say I owe is a out $700 now. This company is a scam. Do not get involved with this company this has been going on for years all they care about is getting your money.

Vivint - Don't use this company

In July of 2016, a Vivint salesperson came to my door telling me about how Vivint was the top company for offering home security. The package he offered included three cameras, doorbell camera, two exterior cameras, wifi thermostat, and an Alexa tower. The salesperson told me that the contract was for 24 months. The cost was $100 a month. After 28 months, I called to cancel the service because I was not using it and was told that the contract was for 42 months. They said if I wanted to cancel the contract that I would have to pay all 14 remaining payments. A total ripoff!! I will not recommend this company to anyone I know. I was scammed! I am going to try to get a loan so that I can get from under this contract.

Vivint - Trapped by lies

Vivint is the worst company I've ever been trapped into staying with. The salesperson lied about my pricing, then when I called their customer service about it for 3 months straight, they told me that the price I said was not documented. So in other words, it's my word over the salesperson that won't answer my calls now. The installation was a nightmare because we believe the tech guy was on drugs. He was at our house at midnight and I asked him to leave and complete the job in the morning. He told me I would need to pay him $2,000. Are you kidding me... I called several times about the equipment, they told me would send out a tech. No one ever came. I tried to cancel with them due to improper billing and broken equipment and they told me that I would be charged $3,000 and that I could cancel in 2021 for half that amount. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. A total rip off and scam.

I agree. They are the worst company I have ever dealt with System hasn't worked since I bought it 6 months ago.

Service guys say there is no way to make it work as everything is to far from the main unit. But they will not let me out of contract now even after they told me they would. I have hour long phone calls with them due to being on hold for so long. Horrible horrible company.

Never again with them.

DO NO BUY FROM them. Do research....there are better systems for much much less money

They did a software update, I think this is their scam to sell new equipment to customers. Cause that’s when our troubles began, alarms went off all hrs of the day and night , multiple times, Vivint insisted we purchase the new and improved package, we refused. We never had a contract with them, they took us over from a buy out of our former co. We told them we had enough of them , they said to put it in an email and send it to customer service, we did. They continued to take money from our account. We notified the credit card company and had them removed. Now they hound us for being over due. We sent more emails, they claim they never received them. Today I contacted our state attorney general, I want to file a formal complaint now. I’m sick of Vivint. Rose A.

I just read a review that is word for word what happened to me. We live in a high end neighborhood and CRS came around and got most people signed up on a 3 year contract. Well when the 3 years was up they automatically renew you without permission, and when you don't pay they report you to the credit bureau, and totally mess your credit up. It gets better. I received a call from CRS stating they would settle with me and clear my credit if I would pay $500 over the phone to them. Well I did and it's been two years and it's still on my credit report. Please stay away from this crooked company!!!! RIP OFF!!!!!

Yes , it's time to sue Vivint; I spent 1356.00 at Best Buy for their "Smart Home System".. I had to leave town (which was the primary reason for getting the system installed).At about 90 days (not even the full 120 days)..

the system just quit working, I couldn't check in on security from my phone. I was several hundred miles away when this happened, and could not get back into town until April. The system was installed in Sept.2017...it failed Dec. 23, 2017..

I could not get back until April 2018. I spent hours discussing this issue and was assured not to worry, everything was probably ok, it was more or less an internet problem and they wanted to know if there was anyone I trusted who could go to the house to access the panel!HUH?Yeah, that makes perfect sense, just give somebody my key. When I arrived home in April, the system was not active, the panel had froze. The door bell didn't work, the out door camera didn't work, I was surprised also there was no alarm voice after my entrance.

They then said they'd send a tech out.Tech did not show up. They then rescheduled; Tech called and canceled, said, I'd have to reschedule. I got back online with the chat and made another appointment. She rescheduled for today May 3 from 10a-12p.However, I noticed I had an email I didn't open until yesterday ...

it was the chat operator saying Our chat was disconnected before I could finish scheduling the technician. Our system is having issues so it did NOT schedule the technician. I will try to schedule this a little bit later.I'll keep you updated. I said, WHAT?

I saved the chat, that confirmed the appointment. I still have not heard back.It has been months of pure b.s. -- at one point I spoke to their loyalty department and wanted a full refund because the service failed in the first 90 days while I was out of town.

They said they couldn't do that, but they credited 199.00 for past months of it not working.I am so sick of this... it's been a constant headache.

Trick you in to a contract, equipment dosent work, if you try to cancel it on trial period will lower your bill but when trial period is over they raised up your price and tell you you are in contract. If you try cancel your service ask you for 1000 to cancel. Call them sever time that door bell is not working it took them 1.5 year( yes one and half) to come out to have a new door bell. 3.5 year contract I am stuck, just Wright this review so no one else have to go through what I am going thro.. I try other services but so far vivint by far the worst save you self from 3.5 year of headeack

Vivint - Had a terrible time canceling this service when I moved

Husband wanted the service. I thought it was overpriced. It was. We kept it for a couple of years. We moved to another part of the state. Did not want the service. Oh my God it was a horror story trying to cancel this service.
