So far my husband and I have been very unimpressed with Vivint. We live in a new neighborhood and have had several companies stop by to sell us their systems.
We could have chosen any company but having had experience with Vivint in the past, we waited for them to drop by. We didn't have to wait long. The sales staff came into our home after working hours and talked a good game about how much better they are than the competition. Unfortunately, Vivint just can't seem to deliver on all their promises.
The initial install came immediately after the salesman (Adam) left our home. The installer (Chad) was putting equipment in well after 10 pm but the install was not completed. He needed some help installing the last camera and was to return a couple days later. My husband even went to get his equipment out of storage so that he could assist.
Chad never came back. Its almost a month later and the installation is still not complete. There is no communication between our system and Vivint. How safe is that, Vivint?
Where is our peace of mind? Since the failed install, my husband has made several phone calls to Vivint and the salesman to get this resolved. Their answer was for us to be inconvenienced by missing a day of work (which is how we pay the high monthly cost of monitoring) to sit at home all day waiting for them to come by and fix their mistake. Funny how they can be in our home well into the night to put their system in but once they sell you the system their techs mysteriously don't work after 5 pm.
After repeated phone calls, we are still waiting for Vivint to get their act together and finish the install.
Is it too much to expect a company to stand behind the promises they make? Apparently, with Vivint it is.
