Doorbell cam never worked, someone attempted to break into my home, opening the back door. Alarm never sounded. My dogs work better than Vivint. Packages were stolen from my porch. And these people still want me to pay off my contract

Vivint - Home was not monitored for 8 months

My mother moved to assisted living in December of 2017. We cancelled the home phone and Vivint unit started beeping. My brother called tech support and they stated that needs landline. My brother said "cancel the service". Mom still getting billed at 8 months. Contact wirh customer service said they needed email requesting the cancel, yet this was never communicated to my brother. They will only reimburse mom for one month. Seems they are happy to take her money without any follow-up to home not being monitored! Filing complaint with BBB.

Update on this issue. After going to the top, I got a refund for the 8 months!

Only after finding the president on LinkedIn, and messaging him through this site, was I able to get anywhere. We are satisfied with the response.

Forget all about the BBB ; they can and will do nothing. They have no legal or representative authority and have no impact upon the dishonest.

Experience has taught me to cancel anything and everything in writing and serve the notice via Certified Mail return receipt requested. You then establish an unassailable and legally admissible timeline of events.

Keep copies of everything and all postal receipts. Be aware of "automatic renewal" clauses in fine print as well ; they are becoming a popular way to commit larceny.

Vivint - Worst service

Trying to cancel service is by far, worst ever. Not only did thy say they would stop all ach pyments . But the continue to take payments out of my account . I made several calls and chats. Each rep always gave a different answer , or forgot to mention something important. I was HU multiple times. Sale rep never mentioned we would pay for any service fee for servicing. Equipment is always going off line. Panel always freezing , Cameras never record . Also to mention technician that installed my door locked . Damaged my ceramic floors. Also made additional holes on my door that were unnecessary. They place window alarm to where I could not open my windows. I had t reposition them. I would never recommend this company to any one ever. Worst customer service and bad equipment .

Vivint - Unable to transfer System and Services with sale of home

It's clear that Vivint has no intention of fixing their deceptive ways. I have spoken to four representatives, all of which gave me varying answers to the very simple request to transfer the "SYSTEM PURCHASE AND SERVICES AGREEMENT-RETAIL INSTALLMENT CONTRACT" to the new home owner upon the sale of my home. They are only allowing me to transfer the "Monitoring" while I must take a $1800 loss on the equipment. There is NO WHERE in the entire agreement that indicates it is non-transferable. Nor were the Vivint reps able to point me to language that would support their statements that equipment isn't transferable. I have contacted the arbitration company stated in the document as their is NO clear delineation between monitoring and system equipment in the agreement. Therefore the ability to transfer services would extend to the equipment as well.

Vivint - Doorbell camera doesn't work

Doorbell camera doesn't work. 2 packages on my door 2 different company. Camera does not record unless you have been standing in front of it for 20 seconds. Bought and installed 24 hours ago.

Vivint - System hasn't worked in 2 months

cameras continue to say offline, none work, garage door will say it is open when it is closed, can't open garage using app., front door bell camera doesn't work, says front door open. Have called customer services numerous times even spoke to a manger whom was suppose to have another additional modem sent 3 wks ago, never received. when call customer services on hold for 30+ minutes and them they have no idea what talking about. Called on 7/9/18 spoke with rep said there was an issue with sending out the modem??? Why is there always a problem! I will be contacting the attorney general of consumer protection and BBB to file a complaint.

I am having the same issues as you. I purchased my system in December, it is now July.

My system has not worked correctly since then. My doorbell is offline for 2 months now. Everytime I go away and try to check on my elderly mother, the system is down.

All i do is complain and nothing gets fixed. I told them last time refund my money and rake this piece of crap system out of my home.I want answers

Vivint - Buyer beware!

Don't stress yourself with this sub par system. Considering the fact that the system was total garbage which had technicians coming to the dwelling on a bi-monthly basis to try to alleviate the issues, it was more stressful trying to get out of the contract than it was worth. Vivint plays a game of deception by offering "band-aid" solutions just to pacify the customer so they can distance themselves from the root cause of the issue which never disappears. They send multiple techs, rarely the same one, to the residence and perform completely different trial and error procedures on each occasion. This results in major issues from all different areas of the system from firmware to wifi to cameras...none of which ever get solved. If you sign a contract with this company, be prepared for all the downtime and grief that comes packaged with it.

Vivint - Cancelling Service

Can not believe how bad this security system is. We bought about a month and a half ago. Every time someone would finally come out to try to see the problems, it would last about 3 hours after they did fix it and again would not work properly. We bought this from Best Buy and they also would not cancel our account. We WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM BEST BUY. We've had problems with Best Buy a few years ago and decided to give them another chance. Well, NEVER AGAIN. All we know, we will not pay another penny for this terrible security system.

good luck with that. they will hound you and hound you and then sell your account to a collection agency who will play tricks on you to try to get you to pay. They are beyond despicable with their business practices and *** product and should be put out of business.

I am cancelling this service as I have retired and no longer afford this service. I have not used it in 1 1/2 years as my son lives with me and someone is always at home and we have a pit bull that lives in the house so we are very safe.

My contract expired in May 2018, I am putting a stop payment on the daft at the bank. Cancel asap

I worked there for 5 years and I totally agree. Equipment is total cheap garbage and they make the customer fix their own panel and equipment. I left after 5 years and I feel bad for people that got vivint in their homes.
