Vivint - Customer Service and Policies

Details
Vivint employees are not empowered to help customers in need. Yes they help those that pay or system issues yet they are not trained or afforded to help those in crisis. Their "contract" policies and exceptions are not conducive to the current economy or pandemic we are facing. Nothing to help Covid-19 customers.

User's recommendation: Do not sign any contract with them find another security service. Please note you pay for the equipment on a "credit" system and your monthly billing cycles are seperate charge. DO NOT DO IT.

Vivint - Doorbell works sometimes

Had lots of problems with the doorbell. When I had to buy a new panel to get it to work. The last 2 repairmen were rude and the last one told me if I called in anymore I would have to pay for any more help. It works sometimes, it does not tell me every time someone comes up to my door. Was expecting someone and was watching the LIVE camera, it didn't show anyone coming up to my door. Don't need any more cost.

User's recommendation: Don't buy the Vivint doorbell.

Vivint - Simple safe

I purchased a Vivint security system in October of 2019. I did the monitoring service for a few months, but $60.00 per month is very high priced. I canceled the monitoring service and discover that I no longer had the monitoring app available on my phone. No one told this! Then the magnets began falling out of the doors and a camera was no working correctly. I call Vivint for parts and service questions. Since I no longer had the $60.00 monitoring system, to them I no longer existed. They would not sell me parts or offer service even if I paid for it. Go with Simply Safe. They will help even if you do not have the monitoring system and it is only $15.00 per month. Vivint is a rip off with very bad service. Stay away from them.

Vivint - Security system stinks!

We got the Vivant security system last summer. We have had nothing but problems with the cameras. I don’t check them daily, but when I do need to check them from the app, my videos won’t download or I find that the cameras haven’t been recording at all for several days. We have called, emailed, live chatted. Every time they tell us that we need a software update or that there is a bug and they send the fix/update to the panel. We’ve also had technicians out for these “fixes”. First, if there is an update or a bug that needs to be fixed, WHY aren’t these sent automatically to our system?? WE have to find the problem and call, THEN they tell us something needs to be updated. Ridiculous. Today, I am on a trip so would like to check who is ringing my doorbell. Nope, video won’t load. So I decided to check the driveway camera. It hasn’t been recording since last week!!! I am so frustrated!!!!! I did a live chat and was told, once again, that there is a bug and the fix has been sent to my panel. My husband was so mad he called and told them we want to cancel our service. We were told that we can cancel the service but have to continue to pay for the equipment! What?!?! It. Doesn’t. Work. We are looking into legal action.

I have had Vivint for a while now and about 6 months ago I tested my fire alarms and realized it wasn’t working. I then realized my cameras only worked part of the time. I tried to canctthe service they said a technician would first have to come out. The first technician lied said they came and never did I live in a remote area and it took about 1.5 months before the next one came. Once here she informs me they should have never sold one to me because the area I live in is deemed unserviceable. I asked what she meant and was told it doesn’t work in this area. I again tried to cancel with no luck after several calls and about 3 months later I just was told if I had a technician come to my home again that it would be canceled. Thursday a technician came told me it would be canceled and I would receive an email. Now it’s Saturday and I called and they told me it would be a month and when asked they said I would be paying again for a service that has never worked

Off and on problems. Last called on 28 June, was sent someone out to fix the problem. Was told the screen was to far from the bell. So not the bell works worst than before he came. So now I have *** in one of my walls and another hole where he moved it. He told me it was a software problem and to wait for one month and see what happens. If the software problem is solved by then, if it is not solved it will cost me another $200. for a hard drive.
