The long and the short. We purchased a 6 camera system with all the bells and whistles in 2016 from Vivint. After about a year several cameras stopped working and we were unable to access recordings remotely. We had the tech out and it worked for awhile. A few months...

Vivint - Customer Care Review from Houston, Texas

1.3
Details
The sales representative told us in-house on a Saturday that we had a two week period to cancel the service which was supposed override the three day as noted on the paperwork. He wrote it down but left with the hadwritten paperwork. That all was a tactic. When I called to cancel on the eve of the two week period, I was informed that it was not on record and I had to call the rep back to set the records straight. So, I accept responsibility that we didn't have it written on our record. But vivint played the game on not knowing what other groups within their organization was promising. Customer service said I had to get the confirmation from the rep, the rep blamed it on the installer, and so goes the circle. The sales rep gave me the run around. I called the installer and never got a call back. So I finally called vivint cancellation department to cancel on the two week deadline, but they don't work weekends. Meaning I was now not able to cancel within the two week window. This is a false promise approach and they, by design, locked me into full term contract or I would otherwise have to pay years of penalty. Very deceptive and dishonest practice. I recommend no one use this service. The actual deliverables are not found wanting, but the business practice is classic deception.

I have had problems with low batteries for months. I was getting multiple error messages (3) and alarm tones.

Couldn't get someone to come out each time for 3 weeks. The first time they replaced the battery, wasn't the fix because it started happening again. This time the messages were going off every two days, sometimes more than that and Vivint said my problem wasn't "serious enough" to have someone out sooner. Suddenly the messages and alarms stopped before the tech came out.

I found out why...Vivint turned off my security system for 11 days without my consent. I'm a single mom and also went out of town during a portion of that time. Vivint was aware of both facts. Completely unacceptable and unforgiveable!

The same day the tech came out the news and the homeowners association reported a rise in break ins in my neighborhood. Vivint is lucky that nothing happened to me or my daughter during that time.

I also pretended to be a new customer to see what sales would say if I asked how long it would take for you to come out for a service call, the response? 1 to 3 days...You lie to your customers to have them sign a contract.

A door to door salesman came up AT 9:30 PM knocking loudly on our door. I put our baby down at 8:30.

Isn't there some kind of cut off time where salespeople are allowed to be roaming the streets knocking on strangers' doors. I live in TX, he's lucky he hasn't gotten shot! Luckily my husband answered the door, he deals with sales people a little differently. For kicks, he tests the salesperson on how much they know about their product, asking all kinds of questions acting interested, then about 20 minutes later, says no, thank you.

Boy was he pissed! But not only did he not remain professional about the service decline, he replied, "Well for most homeowners it's a no-brainer." Then showed a list of about 13 names. I'm sure.. those 13 people probably have no intellect.

Just FYI to all those people working door to door sales for an alarm company; there's a reason ADT doesn't send people knocking at your door at all hours of the day and night. So if your going door to door, AND you don't know *** about your product to begin with, you probably ought to find another job.

I have had ongoing problems with low batteries on several of my door sensors. Every time I try to get a technician out they tell me it will be 3 weeks.

UNACCEPTABLE! Every time I call to talk to a manager they tell me they aren't available. This last time I was turned down for a faster turn around even though the customer service rep. just told me he could either disable the batteries so they didn't beep every two days so that I didn't have to call in or that the battery was running out anyway.

Are you kidding me??? UNACCEPTABLE! I'm supposed to live without a security system for two weeks? What is wrong with you people?

If you would have told me that it takes you 3 weeks to come out to peoples houses to fix problems I would have never signed a contract. Run, people, run.

Customer service said this wasn't a normal problem...well, I pay them every month like clockwork...it's your problem. I will tell everyone you are the worst!
