I had a similar experience. I actually thought I cancelled my services with them 3 years ago ( January 2013).
The customer service agent closed the account and stopped the payments from being deducted from my account and I heard nothing else from them. Well 3 years later (December 2016) I get a call saying it was from them and that I would be sued if I didn't pay. I call Vivint and they say my account wasn't closed completely and they they cancelled in in January 2015 because payment hadn't been made in nine months and that it was written off for none payment and sold to a collection agency. How in the world do you not completely close an account and then it pops up years later?
Since when do business go years not realizing that they weren't being paid? STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!
