Reason of review
Poor customer service

Made the biggest mistake by choosing Vivint and now I'm regretting every minute of it!!! They have horrible customer service.

Got lured in by their door-to-door salesman. It was a complete scam. I should have been smarter about it and not fallen for the trap. I'm so glad my contract with them is almost over.

DIY kits seem to be the way to go. I did some digging up on good DIY systems and came across Armorax. They're fairly new but have really good reviews. Might give them a try.

Avoid Vivint at all cost! It is not worth the hassle.

Vivint - Security System Review from New Braunfels, Texas

Vivint thanks this customer for their feedback and for taking the time to submit a review with Pissed Consumer. We were able to review the customer’s account in regards to the problems that they have been having with their Vivint system.
In regards to the installation of the Vivint system we are showing that the problems caused that the install technician falling through the ceiling have been resolved by our home damage department and everything has been repaired. Vivint apologizes for the delay in the relocation of the customers system we strive to make sure customers are taken care of in a timely manner. In the event that a customer system was down for an extended period of time we can do what is called a down time credit for the time the customer was not able to utilize the system.
We are not able to install certain pieces of equipment due to it being a business installation such as smoke detectors, or door locks for legal reasons. Vivint apologizes for any confusion regarding those types of equipment. However the customer was able to speak with our customer loyalty department in regards to not being able to have a door lock and they worked out a deal where the customer would be getting additional cameras instead of the door locks.
If the customer has any further questions or concerns in regards to their system they are encouraged to contact our customer care department at (800) 216-5232 and they will be able to further assist.

I had an alarm put in my business with the door lock key panel back in August of 2013. The salesman basically said they did not have a business license in Texas at that time so they where setting it up as a residential.

I explained to him that our lease was up and we were moving our business at some point. Well the install went wrong the install guy fell through the ceiling and damaged out only bathroom for our customers and employees. It took a few weeks before the repairs were actually approved. They offered me a completely free service call service and a free move without a contract renewal.

Fast forward I contact Vivint and explain the free move I was promised without renewal and the try to convince me to extend and offered me another key pad dead bolt and an additional camera. Well first off I gave them 3 weeks notice of the move and they could not get a tech out until a week after we move our business. A week worth of no security and it's my business!!!! Next the icing of the cake.

Tech comes out and now they are saying they can't install a deadbolt keypad because we are a business. The only reason I signed up for this company was because that feature was being used to allow tow truck drivers and customers in my building to drop off keys. Now even though my service has been downgraded I'm still paying double than what I was paying for my old alarm system. I talked to their retention department that didn't want to talk to me until I sent in a formal cancellation letter.

They couldn't tell me whether are not I was going to have to pay for the entire remainder of the contract even though they can't provide the services I originally agreed to. This company only cares about the money.

Needless to say I would not go through with canceling because I knew they charge my bank account for 18 months of downgraded service. I will be leaving when my contract is over and I will make sure New Braunfels businesses will be fully aware of the company.

Vivint - Security System Review from Trail, British Columbia

Vivint thanks this customer for their feedback and for taking the time to submit a review with Pissed Consumer. We were able to review the customer’s account in regards to the problems that they have been having with their Vivint system. The customer originally had their system installed in July of 2012 at the time they signed a 42 month agreement which ended January of 2016. The customer completed a telephonic survey before the system was installed and stated they understood the length and terms of the agreement.
When the customer was originally installed Vivint agreed to install the equipment at no additional charge to the customer, and the customer did not have to pay any upfront cost for the equipment being installed. The customer did agree to a monthly monitoring rate for the length of the agreement to be billed to the payment form on file.

As first time home owners of babies, I feel as if I got scammed. They said it was a free system, suuure, at first it was. Monthly payments are ridiculous, and all over the place, their not just one set payment.

Also, to cancle (even after being a loyal custome for 2 years, not missing a single payment, they want almost a grand.

Vivint has made us feel stuck with no options because now we cant even afford to get rid of it. Its just wrong.

I have been waiting for a service tech for over a month to change my panel. I had a scheduled appt on January 17th between the hours of 4-8.

I recieved a call at 6pm that the service tech could not come out because he did not have the equipment on the truck. Funny how the salesman have everything they need when they come to your home though!! Now I have to wait for another scheduling so I am now being forced to pay for a service that is not being provided. Ridiculous service department.

You can't speak to anyone in scheduling and it's impossible to speak to a supervisor!!

That's what supervisors are for. Terrible alarm company!!
