Misled

The sales man said three month trail it was only one. the tech incorrectly hooked up the system to my exstining comcast router and i am being charged for a router. another set of techs come to the house said i didn't have a router and i should cancel the service because my comcast is faster. When i call the office they won't let me cancel a two year contract without a $200.00 fee. The internet does not work and never has. My phones calls are put on hold. i spent 40 mins talking to four different people. Problem still not solved. All i can say is don"t let the sales people in your house.

Vivint Smart Home Solutions Review

Vivint installed a system without my consent. I spoke with a supervisor who admitted they violated their own policy. They said the would remove the keypad but never did. When I called back they said it was my problem not theirs

Internet down since april 1st with very low speeds .000040mbs

my internet has been slow now for about six days call the nine digit help line and all that happens is you wait for someone to get on the line have tried several times and nobody picks up in 5 or 10 or 15 minutes....so i will try again seriously thinking about going back to at&t at least they answer in a reasonable amount of time. tried to interact with them online and apparently vivint is separate companies so they do not want to help with internet problems this is a very *** poor service provider of internet service.

Vivint says one thing and does another

My husband Richard and I pay for two home security systems, one at our house and another at my daughters. My daughters house was burglarized, the alarm system didn't work correctly, it just gave a beeping sound. Vivint said for the mistake we only had to pay $35.00 for each system. Vivint then called my daughter and put in a new system which we now pay $58.99, the new system is $9.00 more a month, $9.00 should be added to the $35.00 not $50.00. Vivint doesn't know how to add, if I didn't have a contract, I would find another security system.

Aggressive and insulting sales guy

Vivint showed up at my door today. When told the guy I wasn't interest he swore at me and called me a little punk that would get his. He then made fun of my appearance and called me *** and that it was only a matter of time before my house got robbed. All while I was standing there holding my infant child in my arms. Companies with a product worth having don't have to go door to door to sell it. Any company that hires people like that to represent them is not a company I'm going to do business with.

The salesperson approached our home at 6pm on a Friday night...while my wife and I were on the patio with friends having several cocktails got my 16 year old son to think it was "cool" internet...should have thrown pesky salesman out on his butt! but made the big mistake of not doing so. So they start installing the system which was to take 2 hours as we already had ADT! and it takes way way way longer they are here till nearly midnight...at this point we are 3 sheets and cannot understand what they are telling us in terms of system operations...so Tuesday we call and set appt. for someone to come out and show us...and the tech "no-shows" us! calls next day to apologize but REALLY! Then the system makes noise constantly...cannot sleep through it and finally we have had it! Called to cancel and I am sure people are just doing what they are told but man what a hassle and of course we have 6 mos left on the contract at $69 per mos. so $400+ to remove...who cares I JUST want it GONE...this is one of the most FRUSTRATING consumer / customer experiences I have ever had in my 50+ years.

I agreed to extend my contract in exchange from some addition equipment and was told that it would be several weeks before they could be installed. The day before the appointment I called to verify and was told that I was on a service window from 2-5pm. At 4:50pm I received a call from the tech who said that it would be another half hour and that it would take an additional 1 1/2 hour to install. I had been waiting all day and missed an opportunity to attend a family event. I called the customer service line and spoke to the "customer loyalty" department and the best they could do was to resechdule my installation for four weeks out, or ship me the equipment. He said the I couldn't cancel the contract extension and that this was the best they could do. Ive been a customer since 2008 and have referred several friends to the company. I will never refer them again and when my 48 month contract expires I will be looking for a different security company. I am extremely disappointed in Vivint and the was they treated me.

Do not go with this company. Their equipment sucks and does not work. I called to cancel within a 30 day time period and was told that I only had 3 days to cancel. Nothing I have from them ever works. From the sensors to the cameras, to the door locks. It all looks pretty in the package, but who cares when you are trying to protect your home and the product does not work. Today I had a technician out and he messed up my cameras. The worst customer service I have experienced. I only wished I would have stayed with ADT. At least their system worked.

Make it difficult to cancel

no one comes for scheduled service calls, the equipment is faulty, the smoke detector did not go off when I burned the bacon and filled the house with smoke. The Base unit does not come one when the house button is pushed. I am unhappy with customer service, it is almost impossible to cancel the service. I had a great deal of difficulty trying to cancel the service because the Vivint girl on the phone kept trying to sell me a service extension, instead of trying to schedule someone to fix the problem. The term of the contract was longer than the salesperson represented in his sales pitch.

Vivint - Security System Review from Los Angeles, California

By far the worst experience I've ever had with any company to date. I live in Herriman, Utah. I'm going on four days with no Internet access. My case has been escalated to some mysterious tech department that nobody can speak with. They keep telling me 24 to 48 hours and the issue will be resolved. I have been on the phone with customer support every evenling for the past four days to no avail. Initially, I was excited to cancel my Comcast service as a proverbial finger to their escalating prices. Looks like the jokes on me. Vivint has charming salespeople and friendly tech-support however they can't figure out a damned thing. It's 2015 in America, not some remote village in Botswana.

Dishonest company the bait and switch

Ryan from Vivint came to the door tos us we would get all kinds of up grades only to flat out lie when it came down to getting the system. Not only did he lie but he had the never to say that once you sign the contract it's done. I've seen some shady saleman but this guy takes the cake do not trust anything he says as it will cost you in the end. I lost all hope and faith in this company and I'm going to make sure that all my friends in california don't fall in this trap!

Never finished installing the system... nothing cost us a lot.

Missed three bedrooms (they were not connected to the system, we found it ourselves), came back (after months) and made it even worse (system read windows incorrectly... without touching them, they were activating system). Same was with a defective garage sensor (wind or rain was activating it). Anyway, using system with bypassing half of the house does not make too much sense. They refused to fix it (they want to charge us for completing their job which was never finished) and they refused to reimburse us. When we stop paying, they started bullying us (collection agency etc.) When we said we do not want them, they started to scare us with early termination fees (over thousand dollars). I think it is their way to "keep people" with them.
